Does anyone know how much a new engine costs?

Think I’m starting to be affected by the modding bug just wanting to put my maths head on before I start to work out worst case scenario if warranty was lost?

In Switzerland a new naked Engine costs 20032chf so about 16000Gbp.

~~I forget which company had it listed, but they were showing a bare bottom end(block, crank, pistons, rods) for £2500+vat~~

Was actually £2k incl VAT.

Typically a short block is block, crank, rods, pistons, though maybe this is literally just the block??
