Also curious about this. Everything I have heard about the car shifting torque around has been anecdotal.
No it's variable via a clutch pack pretty similar to a haldex system. You can see the clutch pack pressure readings constantly changing in techstream. The turning on and off mid corner depending on throttle is very noticeable with the overdriven rear wheels.
 
So what's so special about our system compared to rivals?
Mechanically not a lot.

Engine > box > transfer > prop > clutch coupling > rear diff

It's just a very modern implementation in terms of software and ability to control it, is coupled to torsen LSDs which is not always the case and is a fun little 1200kg car.
