To my utter surprise, the front seats of the regular 4 door Yaris have airbags on both sides (window and center of the car). I did not even knew this existed. Watch the car's Euro NCAP side impact video, the airbags between the front seats apparently serve as a cushion between the two front passengers when one is hurtled upon the other from the side impact.

Does the GR Yaris also have airbags popping out of the sides of the back rests of both front seats towards the middle of the car? If yes, would a center armrest get in the way of these airbags, if they ever go off?
There's been no airbag to be seen on the seat's side facing the center of the car when I've had the seat cover off. Not at least all the way the zipper goes up. I don't think the seats have airbags on the outside of the seats either but not 100% sure. But there are curtain airbags above each door in the ceiling, seen them there so that I know for sure.

I apologize for not having looked in the instruction manual myself. Airbags in the backs of the seats yes, but only facing the doors in the GR Yaris. The pictures of the crashed Swiss dealer demo car (LHD car) do not contradict the instruction manual (German, LHD car).

On the swiss car the side airbag in the seat was not engaged as it was a frontal collision. The window curtain airbag will always engage regardless of the impact position.

Still there is only an airbag on the outer side of the seat. It is also clearly visible in the 500+ pages parts PDF.

No just fire the armrest into your head lol ?

Height adjustable. Storage under the lid. Really nice looking. Can fold away. When folded down it is more or less in the way of both cup holders. A tiny bit wobbly side to side. Not wobbly in any other direction. Maybe possible to use an extra backplate when mounting it to remove the little flex. It is the seat frame that flexes, the armrest is sturdy as hell.

or just mail your order to office@sydmeko.se

Disclosure:
I bought a fully black real leather armrest from them with black stitching for around 210€ first. The GRY was so new at the time that they first sent me the wrong mounting kit but they updated some mounting parts and sent me. And since they didn't have any photos of a red stitching armrest mounted in a GRY, in exchange for me sending them photos of it in the car they sent me this faux leather with red stitching for free. No other affiliation.

Thanks for this Magnus. I've emailed them and will get my order in.

For those of us in post brexit UK, the armrest comes it at below the ÂŁ135 consignment limit so is exempt of any duty.

Yep that's about right. Mine is on its way.

Mats Harde should get back to you. (I really hope he makes pornos cos it would be a shame to waste that name). He's was a great help in all seriousness.

Looked a little wobbly in the video, is it going to be sturdy enough to rest your arm on and not gradually bend the mount or sag after time?

Thanks to Mats, I received mine yesterday. The quality is high. Super quick delivery too. Thank you Mats.

Mats / Monzamir, it looks like an iPhone Max would fit in the storage compartment (?) but are you able to say how easy it is to route the cable from the USB socket and into the compartment (would it close properly)? Just looking at whether it's a good alternative to the much talked about issue of where to put your phone!

Hello Zippy, Can not answer the wiring questions as I have not received my Gr... the iPhone12 Max (with cover) fits snuggly though :)
