Interesting comments about the wheelbase, the presumption being that this makes the GR liable to be skittish at speed.

The GR's wheelbase is 110mm longer than even a 992 generation 911, and no-one questions their high speed stability

The lack of overhangs makes it look compact I guess, complete contrast to the Porsche.

My guess is it was just a conscious bias towards in-gear acceleration and the top speed was simply the outcome of those decisions. Nothing to do with Supras or longevity, the GR really doesn't need to go any faster and 90+% of users will probably never get near its vmax anyway.

If (when ?) I hit the limiter at 230 km/h I shall probably change my mind and be looking for an extra 30 km/h!
