Well done. You have an objective understanding of current web tracking software and capabilities. What exactly does this have to do with the private WA group in question? ?
Thank you for that little slap. ;)

Perhaps I've got my cables mixed here.

The OP walked away from WA because of privacy issues. You said that the he's on an online forum. I pointed out that WA etc sell your data, Matt I don't think does. It doesn't matter if the WA group is closed. WA is still taking all that data and doing whatever it does with it. Here on a little forum they don't . Perhaps he feels more comfotable speaking here than on WA?

Have I got it wrong? Did I misunderstand?

It's not rocket science.
Sorry but Yes, it is. Massively. Matt doesn't track every post, link it, cross match to any other post, work out all the interactions between all posters, forecast their desires, their trends, promote exhausts, who's talking to who, who's listening, sell ECUs.

Bloody right this is Rocket Science.

It's a closed group discussing the product in question. If you're worried about privacy, you're on an online forum.
und?

On Facebook, WA etc, you are the product. Your data. Your life.

Here, honestly I don't believe that Matt is collecting our data. The product is his forum.

I'm female, work in quite dodgy areas (I'm a social worker) often in the dark through winter. I can't be driving around with unlocked doors, it's just not worth the risk.

It's irrelevant on the race track and I leave the doors unlocked in that scenario.
I wasn't being negative to you in any way - if you took that then sorry. It's just so alien (to me) that you HAVE to lock your doors when driving. Jo'burg and Harlem I can understand. Real shite that women feel unsafe.
