I wasn't being negative to you in any way - if you took that then sorry. It's just so alien (to me) that you HAVE to lock your doors when driving. Jo'burg and Harlem I can understand. Real shite that women feel unsafe.

i'm with. don't even lock my doors over night. sometimes don't even take the keys out.
not all countries are the same though.

i didn't find the GR felt too good over 230/235km/h. maybe the winter tyres - but more likely just the aero isn't set up for it. i won't be driving mine more that 220 km/h. frankly it just doesn't feel safe. in contrast to my M5 and 911 which both feel like you can read a book and steer with one finger at 270km/h.

I certainly won't want to be driving such an SWB car over 140mph. I have driven plenty of other cars above that speed, but all had longer wheelbases, and were designed for higher sustained top speed and cruising.

i am not putting the GR in that high speed cruiser bracket in my mind.

Ha. The wheelbase is longer than a 992!

I hit the limiter quite easily in mine the other night.
I would be quite happy to go beyond this speed, the car was still pulling quite strongly.

pulls ok yes but doesn't feel aerodynamically stable. far too twitchy compared to cars designed to go that speed (aka german cars).

in fairness, your train tops out at over 300km/h. fuel consumption in the yaris would be terrible at that speed

we often gear rally cars slightly shorter than top speed needed. better to hold it on the limiter for a couple of seconds on the occasional long straight and have lower gearing for the rest of the time.
