Did you do the loooong press on the button?

 

it should go off fully, you will lose the white lane indicator in the central dash once done.

single press will only turn on / off LTA

 

Long well, two second press of the button turns it off.

 

All these nannying systems are doing my head in. You should be able to at least programme what you want on or OFF via the key so can swap settings between drivers

 

Sadly, you just have to accept the fact that the concept of driving a car by placing trust on your own brain is slowly disappearing. At least the GRY is not and most likely will never be capable of fully driving on its own.

 

As the guys have said, a loooong press turns it off

 

Has someone worked out a way of turning it off permanently yet?

I was reading a post on PH the other day by a guy saying his lane keep assist (new BMW I think) veered him toward a cyclist that he was overtaking and he had to wrestle with the wheel to avoid squishing him. I wasn’t a fan of the idea before, but now…fark that!

If it was up to me I’d turn it off and throw it out the window.

Even Toyota Dealers cannot turn it off. They tried for me.

It's doubly annoying since the Corolla Hybrids they give me as courtesy cars has it off by default.

 

Thanks all. I'll try this long press approach! Certainly did a long press in the menus using OK button to go in and then turn it off and used the steering wheel button on top but not sure I tried a long press on the steering wheel button. Will give it a try. ????

 

It's become a very easy part of my routine getting into and starting the car. I don't even notice now.

 

The Lane assist button on all GR Yaris's in a few years ??

 

It's not too much of a hardship. It's a bit like pre-flight checks.

You can press both the buttons at the same time so hold the lane button down and press IMT and that's even before the main display has booted up.

 

Yup but I do IMT on, Start/Stop off. Track mode on the dial, then long hold TCS + Lane assist simultaneously. Every single time I start the car up. It's not charming tbh.

 

I usually remember to do it before setting off, BUT then I stop at the petrol station just up the road and forget to re-apply

 

So not like VW/Audi or BMW where you can buy an OBD connector and change the default settings with an app?
