Back in Brizzl, Popped to dealers. Collecting Tuesday or Weds, before back to Devon.

They though I was a bit odd, armed with my ONR and 2 MFs, panel testing. But did comment that the R was very clean.

Already posted some on Detailing forum but...more.

Protective wrap gone. Bit of bird poo on roof and rear spoiler - soon non-touch squirted off my my trusty ONR sprayer.

I liked what I saw. Nice chunky stance, BBS wheels set it off (no marks). Very happy with colour choice - seeing it transform from dirty white in the grey rain as I arrived, to clean, vibrant silver white in the sun and popping (on the the one panel I QD'd) was very pleasing. I am not going to have time for full detail next week, so will just have to drive it. Ho hum.

Quiet excited.

EDIT: STILL not told wife. heh, heh...

haha, well good luck :)

I'd never get away with that. My wife is not a car person, but even she will notice that on the drive is a white hatchback and not a bright blue saloon car on the day i get it lol.

I have known guys who do this with motorbikes tho and also one guy who had a collection of Rolex Subs. He would just brazen it and say 'no, same one...' Even tho the one on his wrist might be a new-to-him very expensive vintage version etc. He had about 30 of them!

I can't remember getting in a car and it all feeling so 'right' so soon.

it's a hoot. Just wants to go, go, go. Running in so bit of caution, but have made a couple of ventures to 6k rpm.

..initial impressions is that it is no way faster than a stage 1 R, once going and and the speeds rise. But it picks up and feels quicker, more alert and keen to go at it.
The in-cabin engine noise is a step above the anadoyne ea888 Muzak pumped in. Gear change is snikedity snik rifle bolt action. Lever just to hand urging you to change up/down. Imt Rev matching function clever, which is just as well as pedals not best spaced for heel n toe. The large 4 pot brakes do so lack a bit of initial bit compared to the R, but that is less over servoed. They dial out speed very well and feel confident once you are on them. The cars low relative mass is obvious the way it changes direction in flowing bends. It does roll but settles, plants and then transitions back to other side in a way that the R can only dream of. It's an awful lot more deft and light on its Michelin's.

Not perfect for cruising and motorway work, but that's not its brief in life.

first impressions is that the hype was justified.

Other folk on road seem to like it too. 3AD991A9-D6EA-4F3C-9BF0-686475E70CE6.thumb.jpeg.e999d6e8b367f75d0208f43c43cb6996.jpeg

First road trip. Bristol Liverpool Belfast. Coast.

pic heavy. 500 miles up. Time to razz, although weather changeable.
Some touring notes:

-no problem packing.
-GR not best motorway car.
-running on 95ron - hard to find up NE coast
-Stereo not good at speed. Car is noisy, door cards resonate, mid range harsh
- at lower speeds Qobuz flacs sound much nicer than Spotty mp3
- clutch does not like multiple hill starts
- brakes still feel wooden in response to me. Enough power but very poor initial bite
- rear 3/4 viz pulling out of side roads poor.
- but it so wants to play. Hard when you don't know the roads.
- great fun at 7/10s sane speeds though
- still not used to controls, dash display.
- IMT is great for down changes. It does respond quicker the harder you go, or do it seems
- I like the interior pumped noise.

pics will tell the rest

Agree on noise at motorway speeds. First time yesterday on m40 for 70 miles. Not so bothered about road noise, it's more an annoying 'rattle' on the drivers side just behind me. It's a metallic rattle like small stones which appear the faster it goes
I've also found hill starts/ general pulling away much harder when the iMT button is active. Might just be me
That drive along the NI coast looks amazing
