I understand the JBL system has dash mounted mids to make it 3 way upfront. What size are those mids anyone please?

Additionally, does the CP car also carry the dash grilles for those (not fitted) mids?

My car arrives next month, and I've got an upgraded sound system ready to go, as below:

- Audiocontrol D4 800 DSP/Amp - Fronts and tweeters
- Audiocontrol LC1 800 amp - Sub
- Morel Hybrid 62 - 2 way component kit
- JL Audio CS112LG-TW3 12inch sub

I'm going to remove the rears and sound deaden the rear panels instead, the GR obviously has a small cabin and I will seldom have a rear passenger. I'm going to sound deaden the whole car from the drivers seat back, to try and get rid of the road noise and gravel pick up.

All in all adds about 30kg to the car but a worthwhile upgrade imo.

Yes, adapters included

But as said before, you need to add an EQ to benefit the improved speakers in the midrange. Bass and treble sounds improved without an EQ (although deep bass is cut from the head unit but pretty low down). But midrange gets kinda odd without a proper multi band EQ.

This is what the Circuit Pack Head unit will play in to your speakers:

that´s what I have been afraid and you confirmed my suspicion, that the signal is DSPed. might leave it as it is in my case, as I did not want to spend much on an upgrade. after all the speakers from factory do not sound that bad IMHO, thanks to DSP magic :)
another thing to concern is, when picking some after-market speakers: I think the vietnamese speakers are pretty sensitive based on looking at their construction, so one should look for a replacement with a high dB rating, otherwise the stock amp might not have enough power to move them properly.

If you are going to change the speakers watch a video how to remove the door panels (I posted one earlier in this thread).

But a must watch is how to put back the A-pillar cover, it has a very special clip at the top (due to side curtain air bags) that is hard to figure out, with this video's help it takes less than five minutes to swap out the treble speaker ?

I need to change my tweeter dose anyone know what the positive and negative is on them?

Hi dearwalker. How did you get on with the speaker upgrade & sound deadening?

what i do know is that the rear speakers sound absolute crap. just fade to the rear only and you can hear how bad they are. I am wondering just changing to the powerbass at the rears for ÂŁ110 will still sound better even with the DSP issue. hmmm.

I recently bought these for my GR c/p https://caraudiosecurity.com/oe65c-ty-6-5-toyota-oem-replacement-component-speakers and https://caraudiosecurity.com/oe652-ty-6-5-toyota-oem-replacement-co-axial-speakers
I fitted them yesterday and was amazed by how much better they sound compared to the standard. I also applied sound deadening to the rear panels. View attachment 36657 View attachment 36661 View attachment 36659 View attachment 36663
Saw the video of the install of these, was interested to see someone else do it and give feedback so thanks for posting!

Seem reasonable in terms of price and how easy they are to install, do you think its worth it?
