Is anyone considering a good sealant underneath the Yaris? Would be good to find places that offer this and gauge costs.

Reading this with interest as my car should be arriving in November and really interested in having it treated with Dinitrol, local company who does this have never used the clear option so thinking just to have the black done but the clear really appeals to me - any onehere had theirs done in the black - appreciate I will not be looking under the car, but im well - fussy!.

Applied lanoguard to my wheel arched and some underneath yesterday, after I collected the car that morning.

very easy to apply with the hand sprayer, a fine mist and I did warm up slightly before application.

Used around a litre of product, wiped of the excess with a cloth, including down the sills, note don’t apply on a windy day 🤦‍♂️

Have been watching the programs where they follow british made cars in production. If you watch the Mini one you will notice the underneith is just like the GRY. They made the point that the steel is protected with zink. They also use a sealant in all the joins - just like ours. I noticed that under the GRY that there is a very good layer about 15mm wide of sealant everywhere. The Mini looked to have a light spraying but nothing else.
It looks like their tactics at stopping rust has now changed rather than a thick black layer of underseal covering bare, unprotected steel.
Having said that, I have given mine 5 sprays with Atom-Mac and one spray of Lanoguard which will be done each summer after a spray clean.

Just used salt-away on the underside of the Yaris to get get rid of and neutralise any salt, it took 15 mins from start to finish including setting everything up and jacking car up. Gonna do this once a month maybe see how it goes over winter. Car currently has exactly 1500 miles

I dunno what's up with my phone uploading pics the wrong way round..

Was out today around Hexham, blanchland and Weardale and the fritters have been out but not too bad

I just used auto finesse degreaser and Tfr and citrus pre wash and neither 3 would touch it

mom using that atomac in my chassis cleaner every other wash anyway so that should keep the worst of the salt at bay

I use this stuff, it's weird having boat wash delivered when you don't have a boat. Also good for removing fish blood should you ever encounter such a road hazard. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08FZSH8VJ/
Never heard of that stuff, how does it compare with salt compared to dedicated salt removers?

road hazard? Was that code for insulate Britain road blocking wan##r? ?? that could be a good selling point haha

I was wondering about that, but the Dynax and Lanoguard I used have both dried to a tacky finish. It is softer in this warm weather but no runs or drips! Ive found its sticky enough to mean grit and small stones stick lightly but otherwise it's staying fairly clean really even on the muddy lanes round here. Jetwashing seems ok too, it's not being blasted off when I've done the underside and arches.
